TALK AND FILM Saddleworth Literature Festival – All proceeds to go to Delph Library

Marie Elsa Bragg will be discussing her writing journey and her debut novel, Towards Mellbreak.
.
Marie Elsa’s fascinating career includes periods as a ballet dancer, Anglican priest, therapist and even a lecturer. The book follows a family of Cumbrian hill farmers over the generations and the challenges they face. It was inspired by her own childhood on the fells with her father, broadcaster Melvin Bragg, and his family. Poetic, beautiful and tragic, it gives an account of the struggle to preserve traditions and beliefs in the face of change. Marie Elsa will be signing copies of her novel after the event.
Following this event is a film screening of The Levelling to tie in with the themes of Towards Mellbreak.
.
